There are artificial wetlands, which cover a small part in this national park reserve. The most remarkable thing in this Park is the autumnal migration of cranes.
The Duna-Dráva National Park took some years to be built because it was actually aimed at being a cross-border national park. The national park was then finally established in the year 1996, only on the Hungarian side.
The Aggtelek National Park is the second oldest of the national reserve of Hungary which was established in the year 1985. 75% of this park is covered with deciduous forests and there are above 200 karst caves in this park.
