The Fisherman’s Bastion which looks like a castle was designed by architect Frigyes Schulek and was built in the year 1905. The Fisherman’s Bastion comprises of seven towers, each of which symbolizes the seven Magyar tribes that had come to Hungary in the year 896. The Fisherman’s Bastion castle looks like a Disney type castle or that of a fairy-tale. However, the structure is in sync with the style of the Church of Our Lady and complements the church. The Fisherman’s Bastion is located near the Fisherman’s Town, which is where it derives its name from.
