John Von Neumann was a great mathematical prodigy who was born on December 28th, 1903 in Budapest, Hungary. Since his childhood, he was brilliant in all kinds of mathematical calculations. He pursued his early education under the guidance of M. Fekete. Von Neumann obtained a doctorate degree in mathematics from the University of Budapest. He obtained a diploma in Chemical Engineering in the year 1925. In 1927, he became a professor at the University of Berlin. Later on he shifted to Princeton and joined as an IAS member in 1932.
Neumann's knowledge of meteorology, ballistics, hydrodynamics and statistics was very helpful for the different projects during the world war. Neumann served as an executive management consultant with a number of organizations after the World War II. To examine various current projects related to computer science and technology, Neumann was a consultant at the IBM organization. Neumann died in the year 1957.
Every year, outstanding performers in the field of computer science and technology, receive an award from the 'Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers'. The board of directors established the
John Von Neumann Medal in the year 1990.
