Astronomical observatories in Hungary show the advancement in science and technology in Hungary. In the observatories, various research programs are conducted, which deal with space projects.
Astronomers also conduct other theoretical works in the astronomical observatories of Hungary. Optical telescopes of 0.5 to 1 m and other instruments are used in the observatories.
Konkoly Observatory, also known as the Konkoly Observatory of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, is one of the astronomical observatories in Hungary. It was set up in 1871. The Director of Konkoly Observatory is Lajos G. Balazs. He is assisted by Peter Abraham, the Deputy Director of the same observatory.
Konkoly Observatory is situated in Budapest. This observatory works in coordination with Heliophysical Observatory, situated in Debrecen. In 1980, the observatory of Debrecen was associated with Konkoly Observatory.
Both the observatories together formed the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. University of Szeged and University of Debrecen are also associated with the projects. Among the
astronomical observatories in Hungary, Piszkesteto Mountain Station is another important research center.
