Hungary – science and technology have progressed over the years. The country has spent a considerable amount of money for the developments in the field of science and technology. Hungary has set up astronomical observatories, space office and several research institutes.
Astronomical Observatories in Hungary have been established to carry on various theoretical works as well as some research programs. Konkoly Observatory carries on research programs and space projects. Similar works are done in Heliophysical Observatory in Debrecen and at Piszkesteto Mountain Station.
Hungarian Space Office is situated in Budapest. This space office was set up in 1992 by the government of Hungary. Scientific Council on Space Research and Hungarian Space Board help the concerned authority to look after the work of the space office.
In the year 1996, about 45 research institutes in Hungary have been set up. These research institutes contribute to the development in Hungary – science and technology. The institutes carry researches in the fields of natural science, technology, agriculture and medicine. In 1825 Hungarian Academy of Sciences and Federation of Technical and Scientific Societies in 1948 were established in Hungary.
