Hungary Population

Hungary population refers to the origin and the present condition of the populace of the central European country, Hungary. The population of Hungary has always been composed of diverse ethnic races, migrating to the country after WWII.
Hence, the country has evolved into the most ethnically homogeneous countries of Europe. The Hungarian people regard themselves to have originated from the Finno-Ugric people, a race originally belonging to Asian tribes. Therefore, the Hungarian population had long regarded themselves to be different from the populace of other European nations.

Hungary population had shown a distinct rise in the years of the Second World War, when other European races began migrating to the country. The population in 1941 almost soared to 9.3 million, however, the effects of the war led to a 5% decrease in population. The growth in population was witnessed even in the 1950's, with 1954 being recorded as the year of the highest birth rate.

Population studies of the year 2002 revealed that the total population of Hungary at the time was 10,075,034. The birth rate was at 9.34 births per 1000 population, while the death rate was recorded at 13.09 deaths per 1000 population. The sex ratio has been recorded at 0.91 males per female.
