Hungary Demographics give an insight into the statistical account of the population of the country. According to the census report of 2001, the approximate population of this country is 10,195,513, from which around 97.7% are Hungarian, about 1.4% Gypsy and approximately 0.3% are Germans. Besides that the ethnic composition also comprises 0,1% Slovak, 0,1% Ramanian, 0,1% Croat and others cover almost 0.3% (1997) of the entire population. However, most of the Romans are not included in statistics reports.
The Hungarians originally came from Asia during the Middle Ages population migrations. They are quite short in height with dark hair and eyeballs. These people initially settled down in the Basin of Carpathia, along the river Danube and in the 9th century established the state of Hungary.
While talking about the Hungary Demographics their language deserves mention. Hungarian is said to be the official language of the country. It is basically a Finno-Ugric language that is mostly used by the Hungary dwellers.
Around 1000 A.D, the Hungarians adopted the religion of Christianity and associated themselves with the Roman Catholic Church. Their way of living is also quite unique in style. Mostly because of their special folk art, dance, music and literature Hungary has acquired recognition from other nations.
