Total population of Greenland is 56,000 inhabitants. Among them 15,000 live in the capital Nuuk. The climate is mainly arctic and sub arctic. Greenland primarily consists of flat terrain and gradually sloping icecap that covers all land except for a narrow, mountains, barren rocky coast.
Greenland has got very little arable land. Zinc, lead, iron, coal, molybdenum, gold, platinum, uranium, fish, seals and whales come under the natural resources of Greenland.
Greenland Geography shows that 84% of the country is covered by ice-sheet. The rest is permafrost. The massive weight of the ice-sheet presses the bedrock of Greenland below sea level, which had been a barrier in case of many researches. Recently scientists are thinking that Greenland actually might be three islands.
Greenland Geography reveals the fact that due to ice loss sea level is rising very fast. According to the scientists of NASA glaciers are melting twice as fast as they were 5 years ago.
