The Greenland Arctic Ocean is located in the north pole of the world and falls in the Artic circle. Greenland on the Arctic Ocean lies between North America and Eurasia. The Arctic Ocean is the smallest one among the five main oceans of the world. The main characteristic of the Arctic Ocean is that a significant part of it is covered by ice round the year. Apart from Greenland Arctic ocean has other countries near it which are Canada, United States of America, and Iceland. The important seas and bays which fall within this ocean are Hudson Bay, Kara Sea, Greenland Sea, Beauport Sea, Baffin Bay and White Sea. The Chukchi Sea in the Arctic Ocean is a key point as it is the access point between Russia and North America. The Greenland glaciers are a significant part of the ocean and it also contributes to its water rise significantly.
As the Arctic Ocean is located near the poles the temperature in this area is very low. There is no sunlight all through the winter and the temperature is extremely low. It only during the few months of summer that land or water emerges out of the cover of snow. The ocean currents at constant intervals are responsible for the warm temperature of the Arctic than the Antarctic. Arctic Ocean is facing the brunt of global warming to a great extent and this has been a concern for all. Apart from that the continent is also affected by the nuclear waste which various countries eject in the sea.
