There are two major rail routes that connect Greece with Europe.
- The most popular rail route is from Italy via ferry. By train travelers can travel up to Brendisi in Italy and from there can take a ferry to reach the port in Patars.
- The traditional route that had been stopped during the Yugoslavia civil war is the route through the Balkans, which has recently been reopened.
Greece Trains are indeed very slow and takes a lot of time to reach the destination, but it provides the opportunity to enjoy the excellent view of the country.
