The commencement or the declination of the
Ancient Greece or Classical Greek period do not have any specific date in the history of Greece. Usually Greek history indicates the period to be before the advent of Roman Empire.
There are disputes among the writers whether to include the eras of the Minoan and Mycenaean civilizations. The reason being that the culture of these races were vastly different from Greek cultures and thus they are preffered to be categorized separately. Chronologically, the Ancient Greek period can be considered as starting since the Olympic Games in 776 BC, but here too many historians object and pre pond the period from 1000 BC.
The logical date for the end of the Ancient Greek period is supposed to be since the demise of Alexander the Great in 323 BC. The forth coming period is termed as Hellenistic Age.
Ancient Greece was thought to be first stepping stone towards the Grecian culture, that was quite predominant in the Western Civilization. Greek culture had a strong influence on the Roman Empire which was later preached to various parts of Europe. The civilization of this era has been full of impact on the language, educational systems, politics, art and architecture, philosophy of the contemporary world. During the Renaissance Period, in Western Europe and also the neo-Classical revolutions in 18th and 19th century Europe the Ancient Greece was notable as a state.

Ancient Greece is the Persian Wars from 500 to 448 BC. Which is still a vital chapter in the Herodotus's Histories.
