The Euro banknotes are of denominations € 5,€ 10, € 20, € 50, € 100, € 200, € 500. Features of each of these notes are as follows:

- € 50 notes having an orange shade has the impression of Renaissance architecture
- € 100 notes are green in color and bears the illustration of Baroque and Rococo architecture
- € 200 notes carrying the picture of iron and glass age architecture has a yellow-brown shade
- € 500 notes having a purple shade has a picture of 20th century architecture
The Euro coins are of denominations 1 cent, 2 cents, 5 cents, 10 cents, 20 cents, 50 cents, € 1 and € 2. One side of the coin indicates the country of issuance, and the other has an impression of Europe or European Union.
Traditional Greece currency of Drachma is now a collectors item. Notes of denominations 50, 100, 200 500, 1000, 5000 and 10000 were in circulation. Coins of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 Drachmas were used.
