Pastitsio

Pastitsio is one of the most popular and delicious Greek pasta foods and can be easily cooked. This is a baked pasta recipe that has to be cooked with the proper ingredients. Pastitsio is to be cooked in three important steps. So the entire preparation of the dish can be sub divided into the preparation of Meat Sauce, Cream Sauce and Pasta.

Meat Sauce of Pastitsio To prepare Meat sauce, first put chopped onion, mashed beefs and butter in a frying pan and cook over high temperature for a few minutes. Cook till the meat turns red. Then add tomato sauce, pepper and a cup of water. Cook till all the gravy is dried up and then allow it to cool.

Cream Sauce of Pastitsio For this, first pour milk in a bowl, and add salt, pepper and egg. Then add some flour and keep stirring until it turns into a fine mixture.

The boil milk and butter separately and slowly add the previously prepared mixture into the boiling milk. Stir till the mixture becomes creamy and allow it to cool down.

Pasta of Pastitsio After the Meat Sauce and the Cream Sauce is ready, the Pasta has to be prepared. First boil water and then add a packet of pasta in it. Add salt to taste. Allow the pasta to boil for about fifteen minutes and then wash in cold water. Add a beaten egg and cheese. Now after the pasta is ready, all the three separate preparations have to be mixed to prepare Pastitsio. For this, first poor oil in a baker and put a layer of the pasta on it. Top the pasta with meat sauce and again add the left over pasta. Then top this layer of pasta with Cream Sauce. Then put butter over the sauce and bake in already heated oven for about v40 minutes.

So this is the entire procedure by which authentic Pastitsio can be cooked.
