Moussaka

Moussaka is one of the important Greece recipes, which is very commonly cooked in the Greece household. Moussaka is one of the favorite dishes of the Greeks and forms an important part of the Greece Food.

Method of Cooking Moussaka To prepare Moussaka, first cut the eggplants into equal slices and then soak the slices in salted water for almost an hour. Then drain the water from the eggplant slices. Take a frying pan and pour olive oil in it and fry the eggplant slices until it turns brown. After the slices are fried nicely, soak off the extra oil from the slices. Again fry nicely chopped onion pieces till their color changes to red brown. Then add the mashed lamb, spices orange peel, raisin and salt to taste and cook for at least four minutes. Then arrange the eggplant pieces and top them with the lamb mixture.

Bechamel Sauce Moussaka is served with bechamel sauce. So it is important to know how to prepare this sauce. To prepare this, first melt some butter in a frying pan. The remove the pan from heat and add flour with the butter. Keep stirring till the mixture thickens. Then add nicely beaten egg yolks to the mixture. Also add chilled milk and allow the entire mixture to heat up. Then add cheese and salt ands nutmeg and bechamel sauce is ready.
