Wachovia Championship
Born in 2003, the Wachovia Championship is a relatively new tournament. It is held at the Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina in May every year. In the first three years, the tournament has raised $4.2 million for charity, thereby being recognized as one of the top events on the PGA Tour.
David Toms won the inaugural event in 2003. Joey Sindelar and Vijay Singh won here in the following years. Jim Furyk is the defending champion having won the 2006 Wachovia Championship . The Championship offers $6,300,000 in prize money with the winner getting $1,134,000.
Tournament schedule and tickets
The 2007 Wachovia Championship will be held from 1-6 May. The authorities will not refund, exchange or replace tickets if they are lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed. Children below the age of 12 will be given free entry on being accompanied by an adult.
The Wachovia Championship has been a regular feature of the US PGA Tour since its birth in 2003. Though comparatively new, the Championship has not failed to attract the top players. As we continue on this tour we will learn about the other tournaments in the US PGA Tour.
