THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola
THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola will be the last stop in the 2006 US PGA Tour calendar in terms of the money list. It is one of the richest tournaments on the circuit with the top 30 money winners on the US PGA Tour after the penultimate event, qualify for the meet.
From 1997, the tournament has been alternately hosted by the Champions Golf Club in Houston , Texas and East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta , Georgia but since 2004 the par-70 East Lake Golf Club has been its permanent home.
From the next season, the meet will be shifted to mid-September from November where it will culminate a four-tournament “Chase for the FedEx Cup”. It will cease to be the final destination as it will be followed up by a number of tournaments.
Bart Bryant was in fine touch at the 2005 THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola as he beat second-placed Tiger Woods by six strokes. The tournament offers the winner $1,170,000 out of a purse of $6,500,000.
Tournament schedule and tickets
THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola will be held from 30 October-5 November, 2006. While practice round passes have been priced at $29 the daily are priced at $29 (Thursday and Friday) and $49 each (Saturday and Sunday).
