Southern Farm Bureau Classic
Annually held at the Annandale Golf Club in Madison, Mississippi , the Southern Farm Bureau Classic is an annual feature on the US PGA Tour roster since 1986. As the tournament is hosted in the same weekend when a major or limited field tournament is played, the top golfers seldom participate here. It was played opposite The Masters till 1994, the British Open in the mid-90s and now it takes place in the same weekend to various World Golf Championships and The Tour Championship. It has been an official money US PGA Tour event since 1994.
Heath Slocum won the 2005 Southern Farm Bureau Classic by two strokes over Carl Petterson. He received a cheque of $540,000 out of the tournament purse of $3,000,000. The 2006 purse will also be the same.
Tournament schedule and tickets
The practice rounds of the 2006 Southern Farm Bureau Classic will be held from 25-27 September while actual stroke play will start from 28 September and end on 1 October. Daily tickets are priced at $15 each.
