Sony Open in Hawaii
The Sony Open in Hawaii is the second tournament in the US PGA Tour calendar. It is held at the Waialae Country Club in Honolulu , Hawaii in January every year. The prize money for the 2006 edition of the tournament was $5,100,000 with David Jones, the winner, taking home $918,000. Chad Campbell and Rorry Sabbatini were tied second. The tournament is known for giving teenage women golfer Michelle Wie numerous sponsor exemptions enabling her to play the tournament.
The 70-par Waialae Country Club was designed by Seth Raynor and opened to the public in 1927. It has been hosting the tournament since its inception in 1928. The 7000 yard course was totally overhauled in 1999. The name of the tournament has been changed many times depending on the sponsors of the championship.

Tournament schedule and tickets
The Sony Open in Hawaii will be held from 7-14 January, 2007. Tickets will be available from December, 2006 at First American Bank Locations on Oahu, Honolulu and at the American Express Desk at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Tapa Tower concourse. You can buy a season pass for $50 or daily tickets in advance for $10 for 10-14 January. The same ticket will be priced at $15 at the gate.
