Reno-Tahoe Open
The Reno-Tahoe Open is annually played at the par-72 Montreux Golf and Country Club in Reno, Nevada since its inception in 1999. The dates of the tournament coincide with the WCG-Bridgestone Invitational. For the first three years it had a full 156 player field but it was reduced to 132 in 2002. The reason for this is that the World Golf Championship doubled its field strength from 40 to 80 players.
Will Macenzie won here in 2006 taking home $540,000 from the $3,000,000 purse of the Reno-Tahoe Open . Bob Estes and Joe Ogilvie came in second and third respectively. Vaughn Taylor has won the event twice.
