LG SKINS GAME
The LG SKINS GAME is an event of a kind where golfers compete for prize money on every hole. As a result it is called a skins game. Originally known as the Skins Game, it takes place annually at the end of the official US PGA Tour season. Though it is recognized by the Tour, the money won here does not count towards the official money list. The Trilogy Golf Club in La Quinta, California plays host to this event.
The LG SKINS GAME differs from the other tournaments in the US PGA Tour in many ways.
- Only four golfers are invited to this tournament.
- The players compete for prize money on each hole.
- Each hole has a different value assigned to it and the golfer who completes it with the lowest score wins it.
- If there is a tie for any hole the prize money is carried over to the next hole.
The LG SKINS GAME offers a prize money of $1,000,000 for all the holes. Till date only Greg Norman has been able to win the entire sum in 2001. Fred Funk won $925,000 the Merrill Lynch Skins Game in 2005 with Tiger Woods pocketing the remaining $75,000.

The LG SKINS GAME is a unique event with the golfers fighting it out for money over each hole. It is not a part of the US PGA Tour but has been able to attract top golfers on a daily basis. As we continue on this tour we will learn about the other tournaments in the US PGA Tour
