Bob Hope Chrysler Classic
Founded as the Palm Springs Golf Classic in 1960, the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic is an annual US PGA Tour event played at the Coachella Valley, California each year. It is well known for its celebrity Pro-Am and is part of the Tour's early West Coast Swing. It is played over five days at four different courses making it a unique event. Bermuda Dines Country Club in Indio, California ; Classic Course in Palm Desert, California ; La Quinta Country Club in La Quinta, California and PGA West in La Quinta, California will be the venue for the 2007 edition of the championship.
The total prize money for this year's edition was $5 million with Chad Campbell pocketing $900,000 as the winner. Jesper Parnevik and Scott Verplank were tied second.
The tournament's biggest draw is the celebrity Pro-Am competition with the likes of George Bush, Bill Clinton, Dwight Eisenhower, Burt Lancaster and Kirk Douglas taking part in it over the years.
Tournament schedule and tickets
The Bob Hope Chrysler Classic will be held from 14-21 January, 2007. The first three days are marked as practice days with the live action staring from 17 January, 2007. Daily tickets will be priced at $20 if you buy them before 15 December. After that it will be priced at $25. Children below the age of 12 will be given free admission when they are accompanying an adult.
