AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am
The AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am is held at three different courses in Pebble Beach, California in February every year. They are Pebble Beach Golf Links, Poppy Hills Golf Course and Spyglass Hill Golf Course.
Tournament History
- Bing Crosby hosted the first National Pro-Amateur Golf Championship in Rancho Sante Fe , California in 1937.
- In 1942 the tournament was suspended due to the World War II.
- The tournament was revived in 1946.
- The first Bing Crosby National Pro-Amateur Golf Championship was held in the following year.
- AT&T becomes the title sponsor in 1986.
Arron Oberhosler is the reigning champion, with Rory Sabbatini and Jonathan Byrd coming in second and third respectively. Oberhosler received a cheque of $981,000 in the $5,400,000 AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am championship.
Many celebrities including Kevin Costner, Bill Murray, Steve Young, Michael Bolton, Carson Daly and Justin Timberlake have tried their hand at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am .
Tournament schedule and tickets
The 2007 AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am will be held from 5-11 February. You will have to pay $50 for daily tickets if you book before 4 February. After that you will have to shell out $60 dollars per ticket. Children below the age of 12 will be granted free admission on being accompanied with an adult.
The AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am is the sixth tournament in the US PGA Tour calendar. You can see your favorite celebrities in action besides regular match play. As we continue on this tour we will learn about the other tournaments in the US PGA Tour.
