84 LUMBER Classic
Farmington, Pennsylvania .It is one of the short-lived tournaments in the US PGA tour history as it will cease to be part of the Tour from 2007. The tournament was born in 2000. The course is privately owned by 84 Lumber founder Joseph Hardy.
Waynesborough Country Club in Paoli, Pennsylvania hosted the 84 LUMBER Classic in its founding season and also hosted it in 2002. In 2001, it was held at the Laurel Valley Country Club in Ligoner, Pennsylvania . Form then on the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort has been its home. The name of the tournament was also changed a number of times.

Michelle Wie has been invited by the 84 LUMBER Classic authorities to play in there in 2006. This would be her third attempt to make the cut in a PGA Tour event this year.
The 2005 edition of the tournament was won by Jason Gore who beat the likes of Vijay Singh and Phil Mickelson to the title. He won a cheque of $792,000 out of the tournament's $4,600,000 purse.
Tournament schedule and tickets
The 2006 84 LUMBER Classic will be held from 11-17 September. The first three days are earmarked for practice with the rounds starting from 14 September. You will have to shell out only $25 if you want catch the golfers live in action during the rounds each day.
The 84 LUMBER Classic will be held for the last time this year. As we continue on this tour we will learn about the other tournaments in the US PGA Tour.
