The Scholarship America Showdown at Somerby has not been played at any particular course since it was first played in 2004. All the courses on which it has been played are in the state of Minnesota. This tournament is a relatively new one with 2006 being its third year. From 2004 itself it has been part of the Nationwide Tour.
The 2006 Scholarship America Showdown at Somerby was played at the Somerby Golf Club and had a total prize purse of $ 550,000. Brandt Snedeker won the meet via the playoff against Jeff Quiney. Initially Quiney had a four-stroke lead but Quiney came back strongly to take the match to a playoff. He also won the winner’s cheque of $ 99,000.
