The Rheem Classic Pres'd by Times Record was first played in 1998 at the Hardscrabble Golf Club in Fort Smith, Arkansas. It was then known as the Fort Smith Classic and since 2003 came to be known by its present name. From the very beginning it has been part of the Nationwide Tour. A substantial amount of money is donated by the organizers for charity. The tournament is generally held in the middle of May.The 2007 Rheem Classic Pres'd by Times Record will be held in The Dominion Club,Richmond, Virginia, from 11-14 May.
The 2006 Rheem Classic Pres'd by Times Record was very closely fought. The match went to a tie-break where Darron Stiles beat Michael Putnam in a playoff. The tournament offered a total prize money of $500,000 out of which the winner received $ 90,000.
