The Peek'n Peak Classic was first played in 2002. In its inaugural year itself, the tournament was incorporated into the Nationwide Tour roster. It is played annually at the Peek’n Peak Resort in Findlay Lake, New York generally in the first week of July.
The 2006 Peek'n Peak Classic saw a see-saw battle between John Merick and Gavin Coles. Merick twice took a one-stroke lead and on both occasions Coles leveled the scores. The match went to a playoff and eventually Merrick emerged victorious. The tournament had a total prize purse of $560,000 of which the winner’s share was $ 100,800.
