Born as the NIKE Oregon Classic, the Oregon Classic Pres'd by Kendall Automotive Group first played in 1998. From the beginning itself, this tournament has been part of the Nationwide Tour . The Shadow Hills Country Club in Junction City, Oregon has been the home of this meet since it was first played in 1998. The Hillcrest Country Club in Boise, Idaho has been hosting the tournament since then. It came to be known as the BUY.COM Oregon Classic in 2000 and from 2001 it has been known by its present name.

The 2006 Oregon Classic Pres'd by Kendall Automotive Group went to the wire with the winner being decided via the playoff. Ricky Barnes had taken a three-stroke lead after Round I but Cliff Cresge chipped way the lead to level the scores at the end of the fourth round. In the playoff, Kresge took control and emerged victorious to take the winner's cheque of $ 81,000. The tournament had a total purse of $ 450,000 and was held towards the end of September.
