Cox Classic Presented by Chevrolet was initially known as the NIKE Omaha Classic. Started in 1996 it immediately became a part of the Nationwide Tour. The Champions Run Golf Course in Omaha, Nebraska has been home to the tournament since the beginning. Here is a list of names by which the tournament was known over the years.

After trailing Craig Bowden by one stroke after three rounds, Johnson Wagner played a brilliant fourth round to clinch the 2006
Cox Classic Presented By Chevrolet. He carded eight-under-par to snatch the lead and win the tournament by four strokes. The tournament purse was $ 650,000 of which he received $ 117,000. The tournament is generally held in early August.
