Chattanooga Classic

In 2003, the Chattanooga Classic became a part of the Nationwide Tour. Before that the tournament was a regular feature on the US PGA Tour roster. The Black Creek Club in Chattanooga, Tennessee has been the venue for the event every year. The tournament is generally played towards the end of June. In 2004, the tournament’s name was changed to Chattanooga Classic Presented by Cummings Cove and RealtyCenter GMAC but it was reverted to its earlier name in 2005. The 2007 Chattanooga Classic will be held in Black Creek Club,Chattanooga, Tennessee, from 22-25 June.

Brandt Snedekar has only himself to blame as Kyle Reifers won the 2006 Chattanooga Classic. Snedeker had a lead of eight strokes after the first two rounds but his form dipped and the latter was able to level the scores after Round IV. Forced into a playoff, Snedeker buckled under pressure and Reifers clinched the title. The winner received the winner’s cheque of $85,500 out of the tournament’s purse of $475,000.
