The Athens Regional Foundation Classic is another tournament which was started in 2006. It was immediately drafted into the Nationwide Tour . It was held in April at the Jennings Mill Country Club in Bogart, Georgia.
Paul Gow played a superb fourth round to win the inaugural Athens Regional Foundation Classic . Both he and Craig Lile were tied for the top spot but finally Gow won by three strokes. The tournament purse was $ 500,000 of which the winner received $64,800 as prize money.

Paul Gow is the only winner at the Athens Regional Foundation Classic as the tournament was first played this year. Here is a list of winners who have won here since it became part of the Nationwide Tour .
