Women's World Cup of Golf
Sweden clinched the 2006 Women's World Cup of Golf with a thumping victory over Scotland. The Swedish team, comprising of world No. 1 Annika Sorenstam and Liselotte Neumann, took the lead in the first round itself and ended up with a three-stroke victory over their rivals. Both members received $110,000 each in prize money out of the tournament's purse of $ 1 million. The meet is held towards the end of January.
