Michelob ULTRA Open at Kingsmill

The Michelob ULTRA Open at Kingsmill is held annually at the Kingsmill Resort and Spa in Williamsburg, Virginia. First played in 2003, this event has been a part of the LPGA Tour sine then. A host of top players play here as the prize money offered here is among the highest on the tour. The tournament is played in the second week of May with the final day coinciding with Mother’s Day.

Karrie Webb dominated proceedings from the beginning to lift the 2006 Michelob ULTRA Open at Kingsmill. She defeated her nearest rivals Lorena Ochoa and Hee-Won Han, who were tied for the second spot, by a whopping seven strokes. She was awarded the winner’s cheque of $ 330,000 from the tournament prize fund of $ 2.2 million. The 2007 Michelob Ultra Open will be held in Kingsmill Resort,Williamsburg, Virginia, from 10-13 May.

The Michelob ULTRA Open at Kingsmill has not been won by any golfer on more than one occasion. Grace Park ha won it in 2003 while Karrie Webb took the top honors in 2006. Here is a list of winners who have won here since it became part of the LPGA Tour.

The Michelob ULTRA Open at Kingsmill is the 11th tournament on the tour’s roster. As we continue on this tour we will learn about the other tournaments in the LPGA Tour.
