LPGA Takefuji Classic

The LPGA Takefuji Classic was first played in 2000 at the Kona Country Club in Hawaii but since 2003 the Las Vegas Country Club in Nevada has been hosting the meet. It is part of the LPGA Tour roster since 2000 and is generally held in the middle of April. However, the LPGA has decided not to renew their contract with the tournament organizers and hence from 2007 it will cease to be a part of the tour.

Lorena Ochoa clinched the 2006 LPGA Takefuji Classic with a three-stroke victory over Seon Hwa Lee. She received the winner's cheque of $ 165,000 out of the tournament's prize fund of $ 1.1 million.
