Kraft Nabisco Championship
The
Kraft Nabisco Championship is the first of the four major tournaments on the LPGA Tour. It was first played in 1972 but was recognized as a major in 1983. Dinah Shore is credited with finding this tournament. Till 1981 it was known as the Colgate Dinah Shore after which it came to be known by many other names. The Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, California is the home of this meet. Below is a list of names by which the tournament was known.

The 2006 Kraft Nabisco Championship saw some stiff competition among the players with the winner being decided via the playoff. Karrie Webb and Lorena Ochoa were tied for the top slot after regulation play ended. Lorena was leading comfortably by seven strokes but a dip in form saw Karrie leveling the scores. Karrie kept up the pressure and ultimately clinched the title. As the winner he received $ 270,000 out of the tournament's purse of $ 1.8 million. It was held from the last week of March to the first week of April.
Past Winners
Annika Sorenstam and Amy Alcott have won the Kraft Nabisco Championship thrice each. Besides them a host of other golfers have won it on two occasions. Here is a list of winners who have won here since it became part of the LPGA Tour.
