The Celtic Manor Wales Open is played in March, annually since 2000. It is part of the European Tour and is held at the Celtic Manor Resort in Newport, Wales. The resort has a number of courses on which the meet is hosted. Till 2004 it was held at the Wentwood Hills course but now the course is being renovated as it will be hosting the Ryder Cup in 2010. The Roman Road course is currently the home of this event.
The total prize purse for the 2006 Celtic Manor Wales Open was £ 1.5 million of which €3,64,352 went to the winner. Robert Karlsson won it with a three-stroke victory over Paul Broadhurst.The 2007 Celtic Manor Wales Open will be held in Celtic Manor Resort,Newport, Wales from May 31 to June 3.
