Barclays Scottish Open

The Scottish Open was first played in 1972 when the European Tour was first played but after the following year it was discontinued. In 1986, the tournament was again introduced and since then it has been part of the tour again. The Loch Lomond Golf Club has been hosting it since 1996 which has been a bone of concern for the golfers. The Scottish Open is played a week before The Open Championship . As it is played on a links course, the golfers need to practice on such type of courses but the Loch Lomond Golf Course is not that type. As the tournament is one of richest on the tour, most of the top golfers don't give it a miss. Since its reintroduction its name has been changed a number of times. Since 2002 it is known as the Barclays Scottish Open .
