The BA-CA Golf Open Presented by Telekom Austria , born as the Austrian Open , has made a comeback to the European Tour in 2006. Since its inception in 1990, it had been part of the European Tour till 1996. From 1997 to 2005 it was part of Challenge Tour with reduced prize money. This year the total prize money announced was € 1 million but ultimately it was raised to €1.3 million. Still compared to other tournaments, the prize money is below average. As a result all the top players give this meet a miss.The 2007 BA-CA Golf Open will be held in Fontana GC,Vienna, Austria from 7 - 10 June.

The 2006 BA-CA Golf Open Presented by Telekom Austria was held at the Fontana Golf Course from 8-11 June. Soren Hansen won the title beating Simon Dyson by one stroke. He was awarded a cheque of €1,44,440 for his efforts.
