The Puerto Vallerta Blue Agave Golf Classic is one of the two tournaments that is played outside the USA. It is held at the Vista Vallarta Club de Golf, a resort in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The course has been designed by golfing great Jack Nicklaus and it is the richest tournament in the country. The tournament has been included in the Champions Tour roster.
Morris Hatalsky has won the inaugural Puerto Vallerta Blue Agave Golf Classic in 2006. He got the better of Scott Simpson by a narrow margin of one stroke only. The tournament had a prize purse of $ 1.6 million of which Hatalsky received $240,000.
