The MasterCard Championship at Hualalai was first played in 1984. It was then known as the MONY Senior Tournament of Champions and has been part of the Champions Tour ever since. It is played annually at the Hualalai Resort Golf Club in Hawaii. Due to change in sponsors, the name of the tournament has been changed a number of times.

The 2006 MasterCard Championship at Hualalai was won by Loren Roberts, who had a one stroke victory over Don Pooley. He received the winner's cheque of $ 290,000 out of the total purse of $ 1.7 million.
