Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf

The Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf has been regarded as “ The tournament that launched the Champions Tour”. It was first played in 1978, the same year the Champions Tour was born. It has been a part of this tour ever since and is held in the month of April every year. Since then, it has been played at The Westin Savannah Harbor Resort in Georgia.

The Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf is one of the richest tournaments on the tour. The total prize purse for the 2006 edition was $ 2.5 million with the winner getting $ 395,000.Jay Haas had won it with a five-stroke victory over Peter Jacobsen.

The Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf has a history of joint winners over the years. Bruce Crampton & Orville Moody have won it jointly on four occasions while Jim Colbert & Andy North and Charles Coody & Dale Douglass have won it thrice.
