JELD-WEN Tradition

The JELD-WEN Tradition is one of the five major tournaments that take place on the Champions Tour roster. It was first played in 1989 at the Cochise Golf Club at Desert Mountain in Scottsdale, Arizona. The venue for the tournament was shifted to The Reserve Vineyards and Golf Club in Aloha, Oregon in 2003. From 2007, it will be held at the Crosswater Golf Club in Oregon. Like the Ford Senior Players Championship , the JELD-WEN Tradition is also not recognized by the European Senior Tour. The tournament was originally known as The Tradition but due to sponsorship deals the names of the sponsors have been added to it. Here is a list of names by which it was known.

Eduardo Romero won the 2006 JELD-WEN Tradition , beating Lonnie Nielsen in a playoff. In accordance with the other major tournaments, the prize money offered here is pretty high compared to the other senior tournaments. The winner here received a cheque of $ 375,000 out of the tournament purse of $ 2.5 million.

Past Winners

Legendary golfer jack Nicklaus has won the JELD-WEN Tradition four times. Gil Morgan has also won it on two occasions. Here is a list of winners who have won here since it became part of the Champions Tour .
