The Georgia-Pacific Grand Champions Championship was first played in 1995 under the name of MasterCard Champions Championship. From then itself, it has been part of the Champions Tour . It is played at the Hawks Ridge Golf Club and according to the standard norm the lower age limit for the players is 50 years.

Jay Sigel won the 2006 Georgia-Pacific Grand Champions Championship beating Mike McCullough by two strokes. The tournament had a total prize purse of $ 400,000.
