The FedEx Kinko's Classic is a relatively new tournament. It was first played in 2003 under the name of Kinko's Classic of Austin . However, in the following year its name was changed and since then it is known as the FedEx Kinko's Classic . Played at The Hills Country Club in Austin, Texas, the tournament has been a included in the Champions Tour roster since its beginning.
Jay Haas carried his brilliant form from the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf . He backed up his impressive performance by winning at the 2006 FedEx Kinko's Classic . He won $240,000 after clinching a two-stroke victory over Mark James. The tournament had a total prize purse of $ 1.6 million.
