Open to beginners, amateurs and professionals as well, the Costa Mesa public course, better known as the Costa Mesa Golf & Country Club, offers two 18-hole courses. Built in 1968, and designed by golf architect William F. Bell, the courses were re-designed by architect Ron Fream during the 1980's. With large sloping manicured greens, water hazards and cleverly positioned sand bunkers around the greens and on the fairways, this Costa Mesa public golf course offers a unique and memorable golfing experience.
The two finest public courses of the Costa Mesa Golf & Country Club are listed below as:
Los Lagos Course - (36 holes, par 72, 6547 yards)
Course rating - 70.7 / Slope from back tee - 117

Mesa Linda Course - (36 holes, par 70, 5486 yards)

While the Los Lagos course is the longer course of the Costa Mesa Country Club, it proves to be a formidable challenge through its tree-lined fairways, sand bunkers, short fairway grass that makes wedging difficult, as well as water hazards in the form of five ponds spread across the course. However, the shorter Mesa Linda Course of the Costa Mesa Country Club is easier, making good scoring easier to attain here.
The Costa Mesa public golf course also offers various services and facilities on-site including driving range, pro-shop, buggy-carts and clubhouse with restaurant, banquets etc.
Course Trivia:
