Winged Foot (East)
The East Course of the Winged Foot Golf Club , situated in Mamaroneck, New York is a comparatively easy course compared to the West Course.
History of the course
The Winged Foot Golf Club has two courses: the East Course and the West Course. Golf course architect AW Tillinghast designed both the courses which were opened in 1921.
The course is laid over an ordinary piece of land but Tillinghast has converted it into a master-piece. The golfer has to stay focused throughout the course as he needs to hit long, precise shots all the time on this 6664 yard course. The fairways are narrow while the greens are contoured. The roughs are very deep so it is best advised to avoid them.
Course Trivia
