The Wade Hampton Golf Club in Cashiers, North Carolina is named after General Wade Hampton III a popular figure who made his mark during the American Civil War.
History of the course
The Wade Hampton Golf Course is a Tom Fazio master-piece. The course was opened in 1987 and stretches 7,109 yards from the tips. This mountain course has fast, undulating greens and narrow fairways. Despite the course's mountain setting, most holes play downhill and the elevation change is only 110 feet. Water hazards come into play on nine holes.
