Quaker Ridge Golf Club
The Quaker Ridge Golf Course , located in Scarsdale, New York, will test your golfing skills once you tee off here.
History of the course
Before the Quaker Ridge Golf Club came into existence, golf was played at this very place from 1915. It was a nine-hole layout and was known as the Metropolitan Golf Links . A year later, a group of businessmen from the area bought the course and founded the Quaker Ridge Golf Club . AW Tillinghast was appointed to redo the course and he built 11 new holes and restructured seven existing ones. It was opened in 1918 and is often referred to as Tilly's Treasure . In 1965, Robert Trent Jones replaced some outdated bunkers and added some new tees. His son, Rees Jones, restored all the bunkers and added five new championship and four forward tees in 1993.
The Quaker Ridge course has fast greens, and water hazards come into play on three holes.
