Kingsbarns
The Kingsbarns Golf Links goes a long time back in history as it was born around the same time as the St Andrews Course. It is located in Fife, Scotland, and lies very close to the St Andrews Course.
History of the course
According to golf historian, the Kingsbarns Golf Links had a nine-hole course in as early as 1793. The course existed till the time of World War II when the army took over the area as they considered the beach as a potential point for invasion. After the end of the war, the course went into oblivion and was revived on the turn of the century. Kyle Phillips designed the course keeping in mind the links courses that are found in the area. The course was opened in July, 2000 and looked very natural thanks to Phillips' effort.
You can see the North Sea from almost any point of the course adding to the scenic beauty of the surroundings. The rippling, fairways, hollows and humps make the terrain a perfect setting for golf.
