Fishers Island Golf Course
The Fishers Island golf course is located on Fishers Island in the state of New York.
History of the course
The Fishers Island Club was formed in 1927 with Seth Raynor designing the course. The island is only eight miles wide and two miles long and Raynor set the course in links style. He placed nine holes along the shore and barring a few holes all the holes gives you a view of the ocean. There are seven water hazards and numerous sand bunkers that come into play on the course. Raynor pushed up many of the greens, giving them a stage like look. The course is built on rolling terrain but there are many plain areas on the fairways. The course has very number of trees.
