History of the course
The Colonial Country Club was formed in 1936 by Marvin Leonard. He wanted to have bent grass for the greens but the Fort Worth authorities were against it. The Forth Worth golf club already had a course and didn't want to make any changes to it. As a result, Leonard came up with the idea of opening a club. In this way the Colonial Golf Club was born with approximately 100 members. Leonard sold the club to its members in 1941 and from then on it came to be known as Colonial Country Club .
The course was designed by the duo of John Bredemus and Perry Maxwell. The course is fairly long, measuring 7080 yards in length. It is a par-70 course.
